•4mm Crochet Hook
•Tapestry needle to weave in ends
•Scissors
•Stuffing

This adorable bat garland is perfect for Halloween or for anyone who likes to decorate with funny decor! This bat pattern is also super cute on its own. This pattern would also be very cute if you made it with chunky yarn!

Round 1: 6 Sc into a Magic Ring (6)
Round 2: *Inc* all around (12)
Round 3: *Inc, Sc in the next st* all around (18)
Round 4: *Inc, Sc in the next 2 st* all around (24)
Round 5-6: *Sc* all around (24)
Now we will mark where to place the safety eyes. Add a different colored stitch marker into the 13th and 16th stitch in Round 6. Later we will replace these markers with safety eyes.
Round 7-8: *Sc* all around (24)
Round 9: *Dec, Sc in the next 2 st* all around (18)
Add the eyes into the marked areas now.
Round 10: *Dec, Sc in the next st* all around (12)
Round 11: Working in the FLO, *Sc* all around (12)
Stuff the head firmly now.
Round 12: Working in BOTH loops, *Inc, Sc in the next st* all around (18)
Round 13-16: *Sc* all around (18)
Round 17: *Dec, Sc in the next st* all around (12)
Stuff the body firmly now.
Now we will make the legs.
Round 18: Ch 3 (Pic 1). Sc in the 2nd Ch from the hook, Sc in the next Ch. Now squish the piece so the stitches on both opposite sides align. Working in BOTH loops, SlSt in the next 5 st (Pic 2-4). Ch 3. Sc in the 2nd Ch from the hook, Sc in the next st (Pic 5). Working in the following stitch, SlSt in the next st (Pic 6).

Finish off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Weave in ends and cut any excess yarn.

Finish off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Pin the ears on as shown and sew on. Weave in ends and cut any excess yarn.

Wings: (Make 2)

Round 8: Align the stitches together so they match up. Going through both stitches (Pic 1), Sc in the next st, Sc 3 times in the next st, SlSt in the next 2 st, Sc 3 times in the next st, SlSt in the next 2 st, Sc 3 times in the next st (14)
Finish off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Pin the wings onto the bat as shown and sew or hot glue on. Once done, weave in ends and cut any excess yarn.

Garland:

In Any Color

Row 1: Ch 95. Finish off, leaving a tail of yarn. Weave yarn end in and cut any excess. Place the bats where they look good, spacing each one about 12 stitches apart. Apply a small dot of hot glue on the back of the toy’s feet, then hold the feet to the garland. Be careful to not let the glue burn your fingers.
