This butterfly with heart wings is super cute and easy to make! You can get really creative with the colors, or you can make it look like a regular butterfly by using classic colors like orange, black, and white. I think the wings would look super cool with a multicolor yarn! Let’s get started.

With a Pink Pipe Cleaner
Cut a pink pipe cleaner to be about 3″ long. Curl one end of the pipe cleaner to form the end of the antenna, then lightly bend the other end of the antenna. The lightly bent part will be hot glued to the toy’s head. Place a small strip of hot glue on the toy’s head, then lay down the pipe cleaner on this strip of glue. Carefully hold it in place until secured. Repeat with the other antenna. Now hot glue red pom poms to the end of the antennas.

Take a small piece of yarn and insert it into the back of the wing, pulling the needle to the front of the wing. Tie a knot to the base of the wing two times. Now reinsert the needle into the wing, but one stitch to the right. Pull needle out near the original tail end of yarn. Tie both tail ends of yarn together into a firm knot, then cut the excess yarn. Repeat making knots for the wings as shown.
