Let’s get started!
These Easter peeps make for a fantastic Easter basket gift! They work up quickly, the pattern is simple, and the results are so cute. First, we start at the top of the peeps head, then work our way down to the body. The entire peep is made in one continuous piece with no sewing!
Body:
We will start by making the head, then working our way down to the body. Start in any color of yarn.
Round 1: 6 Sc into a Magic Ring (6) Round 2: *Inc* all around (12) Round 3: *Inc, Sc in the next st* all around (18) Round 4: *Sc* all around (18) Round 5: Sc in the next 8 st. Sc 3 times into the next stitch. Sc in the next 9 st (20) Now we will mark where to place the eyes later. Add an eye stitch marker into the 7th and 14th stitch in Round 5.
Round 5’s eye markers will look like the photo below Round 6: *Sc* all around (20) Round 7: Sc in the next 8 st, *Dec* 2 times, Sc in the next 8 st (18)
Add 12mm safety eyes in the marked areas now
Round 8: Sc in the next 8 st, *Dec* 2 times, Sc in the next 6 st (16) Round 9-11: *Sc* all around (16) Round 12: Repeat *Inc* in the next 5 st, Sc in the next 10 st, *Inc* in the last st (22) Round 13: Repeat *Inc in the next st, Sc in the next st* 5 times. Sc in the next 10 st, *Inc* in the next st, Sc in the next st (28) Round 14: Repeat *Inc in the next st, Sc in the next st 2* 5 times. Sc in the next 10 st, *Inc* in the next st, Sc in the next 2 st (34) Round 15-16: *Sc* all around (34) Round 17: Sc in the next 9 st, *Inc* in the next 4 st, Sc in the next 21 st (38) Round 18: Sc in the next 9 st, *Dec* 4 times, Sc in the next 21 st (34) Round 19-20: *Sc* all around (34) Round 21: Repeat *Dec, Sc in the next 3 st* 6 times. Dec in the next st, Sc in the next 2 st (27)
Stuff the head/body firmly now. Continue stuffing after each round. Round 22: Repeat *Dec, Sc in the next 2 st* 6 times. Dec in the next st, Sc in the last st (20) Round 23: Repeat *Dec, Sc in the next st* 6 times. Sc last 2 st (14)
Finish off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Sew the remaining stitches closed and weave in ends.
All done! If you made a peep, I would LOVE to see! You can show me by posting a photo in the comments underneath this post.

Love this little peep! Thank you so much for the free patterns. I couldn’t find any chenille I liked at my local store so I just used regular acrylic yarn and he did fine. Will use the chenille when I make for the grandkids.
This is such a great pattern! I made 3 in less than 5 hours. Great directions! I did understuff them to make them more squishy looking, like the confections. I used acrylic yarn with a bit of sheen in saturated colors. These will be cute in my oversized hand knit treat basket with my oversized crochet chocolate bunny. Thanks for the great instructions!
Can’t wait to make these peeps. I’m going to make them for my great granddaughters and myself. Happy Easter and thank you for all the wonderful free patterns:)
I love, love, love this pattern! Thank you so much! I can’t wait to slide this into my sister’s easter basket, though I think I understuffed it a little. I also used your brontosaurus pattern for this same sister’s birthday, and she loved it as much as I loved making it. Thank you again for your fabulous patterns!!!
This is the cutest little peep ever. It was my first one and I love it. I am going to make a whole little peep family. Thank you for sharing such a simple and fun pattern.
These work up so fast and they are super cute. I actually decided I am going to not stuff it with polyfill and keep them empty to stuff Easter candy inside and use a ribbon to open and seal the bottom

I enjoyed making these peeps. Thank you for the free pattern!
I used cotton yarn which made it easier to shape, but I still feel like I could’ve done better. Loved your pattern though, it’s simple and cute!
Making my peeps for the April crochet challenge to raise money for St. Jude’s. Going to sell Bunny peeps for myself at a craft show next weekend.
Super cute. I think ill do the neck one row shorter next time. Works up fast.
I made a few tweaks to the pattern, making the neck shorter for sure. I think they turned out really cute 🥰🥰🥰
Cute baby toy! Next time, I will cut out a couple of rows for the neck.
Super cute but can anyone tell me do you chain 1 at the end of each row? I’m a little confused.
This was a perfect project for my bright yellow squishy chenille yarn. Thank you for sharing.
Peep pattern is very cute. Looks great in the chenille yarn so now I’m going to try it out in other types. Thanks for sharing your pattern.

Adorable little peep pattern. I used Lion brand nap time chenille yarn and a 3.5 hook. I love her!
