This ghost looks like it’s made with macrame, but it’s all crochet! This is such a cute decoration for the autumn season. This pattern is fairly easy and repetitive after you do the first few rows! If you love mindless projects, this pattern is for you!

Ch 7. Dc in 3rd Ch from the hook. Sk the next Ch, work 1 Sc and 1 Dc into the following Ch.

Now we will make the edge of the ghost. Ch 1 and turn. Crab st all around except at the bottom.
Finish off, leaving a tail for sewing. Weave in ends and cut any excess yarn.
Arms: (Make 2)
In White
Make rows 1-3 of the body and finish off. These will be the arms. Weave in ends. Now place each arm under the body as shown. Apply a strip of hot glue on the arm and stick it to the back of the ghost to secure.
Mouth:
In Grey Yarn
Round 1: 6 Sc into a Magic Ring (6) Round 2: *Inc* all around (12) Round 3: *Inc, Sc in the next st* all around (18)
Finish off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Fold in half and sew the stitches together (Pic 2). Once done, weave in ends and cut any excess yarn. Hot glue the mouth to the ghost where shown (Pic 3).

Tassel:
In White Yarn
•Cut many pieces of white yarn, each piece around 20″ long.
•Insert your book into the bottom of the ghost’s body (Pic 1).
•Yarn over with the yarn, making sure the yarn is even on each side (Pic 2).
•Pull your hook through (Pic 3).
•Yarn over with BOTH ends of the yarn (Pic 4).
•Pull the yarn through the loop on your hook (Pic 5).
•Pull the yarn all the way through the loop to complete (Pic 6).
•Tug both ends of yarn at the same time to tighten (Pic 7).
•Repeat this all the way down the ghost.
•Add extra yarn in areas where it looks too thin.
•Once done, trim the yarn as shown in Picture 8.

I love your patterns so much! I appreciate how thorough they are. I taught myself how to crochet a few years ago and love the way you present your patterns and tutorials.
In the first rows: are the SC and DC supposed to go into the 2 chains we just did or in the stitch before? My pattern turns out full of holes and I don’t know why. Already downsized on the hook but it seems I’m doing something wrong there 🙁
