These hugging gorillas are so adorable! The bigger one hugs the smaller one, resembling the loving embrace you may have for your spouse, family member, or friends! These gorillas make the perfect gift for Valentine’s Day, a birthday, or special event celebrating your loved ones. This pattern may look difficult, but it’s actually very easy! I give a step-by-step tutorial on how to do the loop stitch, which is pretty easy to do 🙂

How to do a loop stitch:

Insert your hook into the next stitch (Pic 1). Hold the yarn as shown (Pic 2).

1. 2.

Pull the yarn on the left with your hook through the stitch (Pic 3-5).

3. 4.

You will have 2 loops on your hook (Pic 5).

5.

Yarn over and pull through both loops (Pic 6-8). You’ve made 1 loop stitch, it will be a loop at the back. Later, flip your work inside out to have the loop stitches face the right way.

6. 7. 8. 9.

Head/Body:

In Darker Color

The head will work into the body. Use this pattern for both the big and small gorilla, as the pattern will say how to make the gorilla smaller starting at round 23. Basically, we will omit a few rounds when making the smaller gorilla.
