Supplies:
• Yarn 4/Medium Weight Yarn in…
Red, orange, yellow, gold, light green, dark green, blue, purple, and pink
•4mm Crochet Hook
•15mm safety eyes
•Tapestry needle to weave in ends
•Hot glue (recommended to glue on coins)
•Scissors
•Stuffing
•Black embroidery thread for smile and eyebrows

Looking for a fun pattern? You’re in luck! This pot of gold is fun and the end result is so cool! The top of his pot holds crocheted gold coins and a bright cheery rainbow pops out at the top! This pattern is perfect for St. Patrick’s Day or for any occasion where you want to celebrate luck!
Gold Top: (Make first)
In Gold Color
Round 1: 6 Sc into a Magic Ring (6)
Round 2: *Inc* all around (12)
Round 3: *Inc, Sc in the next st* all around (18)
Round 4: *Inc, Sc in the next 2 st* all around (24)
Round 5: *Inc, Sc in the next 3 st* all around (30)
Round 6: *Inc, Sc in the next 4 st* all around (36)
Round 7: *Inc, Sc in the next 5 st* all around (42)
Round 8: *Inc, Sc in the next 6 st* all around (48)
Finish off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Set aside for now.
Pot:
In Dark Green
Round 1: 6 Sc into a Magic Ring (6)

Round 3: *Inc, Sc in the next st* all around (18)

Now we will mark where to place the safety eyes. Add a different colored stitch marker into the 20th and 26th stitch. Later we will replace these eye stitch markers with safety eyes.
Round 17-22: *Sc* all around (60)
Add the safety eyes into the marked areas now.
Round 23: *Dec, Sc in the next 8 st* all around (54)
Round 24: *Dec, Sc in the next 7 st* all around (48)
Now we will crochet the gold top to the pot.
Round 25: Align the yellow stitches to the green stitches as shown (Pic 1). Insert your hook into the through the FLO of the green stitch (Pic 2), then insert your hook into the next yellow stitch (Pic 3). Make 1 Sc (Pic 4).

Repeat making 1 Sc into each st all around, making sure to firmly add stuffing before fully crocheted closed. (48)
Round 26: Working in BOTH loops, *Sc* all around (48)
Finish off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Weave in ends and cut any excess yarn.
Rainbow:
Start in pink
Row 1: Ch 10. Sc in the 2nd Ch from the hook. Sc in the next 2 st, Inc in the next st, Sc in the next 5 st (10)
Row 2: Change to purple. Ch 1 and turn. Sc in the next 5 st, Inc in the next st, Sc in the next 4 st (11)
Row 3: Change to blue. Ch 1 and turn. Sc in the next 5 st, Inc in the next st, Sc in the next 5 st (12)
Row 4: Change to green. Ch 1 and turn. Sc in the next 5 st, Inc in the next st, Sc in the next 6 st (13)
Row 5: Change to yellow. Ch 1 and turn. Sc in the next 6 st, Inc in the next st, Sc in the next 6 st (14)
Row 6: Change to orange. Ch 1 and turn. Sc in the next 7 st, Inc in the next st, Sc in the next 6 st (15)
Row 7: Change to red. Ch 1 and turn. Sc in the next 9 st, Inc in the next 2 st, Sc in the next 4 st (17)
Finish off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Weave in all the other ends but leave the long red tail. Now pin the rainbow onto the top of the pot as shown and sew or hot glue on. Once done, weave in ends and cut any excess yarn.
Coins: (Make 12)
In Bright Yellow
Round 1: 6 Sc into a Magic Ring (6)
Round 2: *Inc* all around (12)
Round 3: SlSt in the next 2 st. This helps the coin look smoother.
Finish off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Pin the coins on randomly around the pot, making sure to layer the coins. Make sure some coins should cover other coins for the best 3D look! I recommend hot gluing the coins on since it’s easiest when layering them. You can sew them on if you prefer!
Cheeks: (Make 2)
In Pink
Round 1: 8 Sc into a Magic Ring (8)
Finish off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Pin the cheeks on as shown and sew or hot glue on. Once done, weave in ends and cut any excess yarn.
Smile:
In Black Embroidery Thread
Insert needle into the middle area of the toy as shown (Pic 1) and pull needle out at the left of the toy’s eye as shown (Pic 1). Reinsert needle into the middle of the toy (Pic 2) and pull needle out next to the toy’s right eye (Pic 2). Reinsert needle into the middle of the toy as shown (Pic 3) and pull needle out nearby. Tie ends of thread into firm knots and bring knots inside the toy to hide. Cut any excess yarn.

Eyebrows:
In Black Embroidery Thread
Insert needle with thread into the right side of the toy and pull out where shown (Pic 1). Reinsert needle above the toy’s eye as shown (Pic 2) and pull needle out above the toy’s left eye as shown (Pic 2). Reinsert needle at the lower area next to the toy’s left eye as shown (Pic 3), and pull needle out. Tie the ends of yarn into knots, then bring the knots inside the toy to hide. Cut any excess yarn and weave in ends. Done!
