•4mm Crochet Hook
•9mm safety eyes, oval safety nose
•Tapestry needle
•Scissors
•Stuffing
•Chop stick for helping with stuffing (optional)
•Hot glue (optional)

This adorable dog is cooling off in the pool with his adorable hot dog pool floatie! While he’s super cute with the floatie, this pattern works perfectly as a dog pattern. You can even personalize the dog to your or your friend’s dog simply by changing the colors!

Body:

Start in Brown

Round 1: 6 Sc into a Magic Ring (6)
Round 2: *Inc* all around (12)
Round 3: *Inc, Sc in the next st* all around (18)
Round 4: *Inc, Sc in the next 2 st* all around (24)
Round 5: *Inc, Sc in the next 3 st* all around (30)
Round 6: *Inc, Sc in the next 4 st* all around (36)
Round 7-11: *Sc* all around (36)
Now we will mark where to place the safety eyes. Add a different colored stitch marker in the 15th and 19th stitch now. Later we will replace these safety eyes with stitch markers.
Round 12-14: *Sc* all around (36)
Round 15: *Dec, Sc in the next 4 st* all around (30)
Round 16: *Dec, Sc in the next 3 st* all around (24)
Round 17: *Dec, Sc in the next 2 st* all around (18)
Add the safety eyes into the marked areas now.
Round 18: Working in the FLO (Front Loop Only), *Inc, Sc in the next 2 st* all around (24)
Round 19: Working in BOTH loops, *Inc, Sc in the next 3 st* all around (30)

Stuff the head firmly now.

Stuff the body firmly now. Continue stuffing after each round.

Finish off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Sew the remaining stitches closed and weave in ends.

Ears: (Make 2)

Start in Brown

Round 1: 6 Sc into a Magic Ring (6)
Round 2: *Inc* all around (12)
Round 3: *Inc, Sc in the next st* all around (18)
Round 4-5: *Sc* all around (18)
Finish off. Fold the ear in half and pin onto the head as shown. Sew on. Once sewn on, weave in ends and cut any excess yarn.

Muzzle:

In White

Round 1: 6 Sc into a Magic Ring (6)
Round 2: *Inc* all around (12)
Round 3-4: *Sc* all around (12)
Finish off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Place an oval safety nose between Rounds 3 and 3. Pin the nose on as shown now and sew on, making sure to add stuffing before fully sewing closed. Once done, weave in ends and cut any excess yarn.

Tongue:

In pink

Round 1: Make 3 Sc into a Magic Ring and then tighten the ring (3)
Finish off, leaving a tail of yarn for sewing. Pin the tongue on as shown and sew or hot glue on. Once done, weave in ends and cut any excess yarn.

Arms: (Make 2)

In Brown

Round 1: 6 Sc into a Magic Ring (6)
Round 2: *Inc, Sc in the next st* all around (9)
Round 3-8: *Sc* all around (9)
Finish off, leaving a long tail for sewing. You can lightly stuff the arms now. Pin the arms on as shown and sew on. Weave in ends and cut any excess yarn.

Legs: (Make 2)

In Brown

Round 1: 6 Sc into a Magic Ring (6)
Round 2: *Inc* all around (12)
Round 3: *Inc, Sc in the next st* all around (18)
Round 4-5: *Sc* all around (18)
Finish off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Pin the legs on as shown and sew on, making sure to add stuffing before fully sewing on. Once done, weave in ends and cut any excess yarn.

Feet: (Make 2)

In Brown

Round 1: 6 Sc into a Magic Ring (6)
Round 2-3: *Sc* all around (6)
Finish off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Pin the feet on as shown and sew on. Weave in ends and cut any excess yarn.

Pool Tube:

In Red

Round 1: 6 Sc into a Magic Ring (6)
Round 2: *Inc, Sc in the next 2 st* all around (8)
Now *Sc* all around for each round until the tube reaches around the dog’s waist area. Be sure to stuff every few rounds. The stuffing is easier to put down the tube if you use a chop stick. Once the tube reaches all the way around, finish off. Sew the ends together (Pic 2). After that, weave in ends and cut any excess yarn.

Mustard:

In Yellow

Chain 107. Pin the chain on so it makes a wavy line. To secure, remove one pin and place a small dot of hot glue where the pin was. Wait for the glue to cool down for a second, then gently hold the crochet chain in place to make sure it adheres to the tube. Once you repeat this all around, weave in the ends of excess yarn and cut any remaining yarn.
