This toilet is fun to make and the end result is super funny. We will start by making the top of the toilet, then the toilet bowl, and then the lid. After this, we will assemble everything. Let’s get started!

Top part:

In White

In the first round we will make a chain and work COMPLETELY around the chain to form an oval. The pictures to the right show what this will look like.

Round 1: Ch 9 (Pic 1). Sc 3 times in the 2nd Ch from the hook (Pic 2). Sc in the next 6 st, Sc 3 times in the last ch (Pic 3). Now we’re at the end of the chain. Turn your work to the other side, where we haven’t worked ANY stitches yet (Pic 4). Continuing on that opposite side, Sc in the next 6 st (Pic 5, Stitch Count: 18)

1. 2. 3. 4. 5.
Round 2: *Inc* in the next 3 st, Sc in the next 6 st, *Inc* in the next 3 st, Sc in the next 6 st (24)
Round 3: In the BLO (Back Loop Only), *Sc* all around (24)
Round 4-8: *Sc* all around (24)
Add safety eyes into Round 7, 2 stitches apart.
Round 9: Sc in the next 3 st, *Dec* 3 times, Sc in the next 6 st, *Dec* 3 times, Sc in the next 3 st (18)
Round 10: Sc in the next 2 st, *Dec* 3 times, Sc in the next 3 st, *Dec* 3 times, Sc in the next st (12)
Finish off now, leaving a long tail for sewing. Stuff the piece firmly, then sew closed. Don’t cut the excess yarn – we will use it to sew this piece to the toilet bowl later.

Bowl:

Round 1: 6 Sc into a Magic Ring (6)
Round 2: *Inc* all around (12)
Round 3: *Inc, Sc in the next st* all around (18)
Round 4: *Sc* all around (18)
Round 5: *Inc, Sc in the next 2 st* all around (24)
Round 6: *Inc, Sc in the next 3 st* all around (30)
Round 7: In the BLO (Back Loop Only), *Sc* all around (30)
Rounds 1-6 were the inside of the toilet seat. Round 7, the round we just did, will start to form the outside of the toilet seat.
Round 8: *Dec, Sc in the next 3 st* all around (24)
Round 9: *Dec, Sc in the next 2 st* all around (18)
Round 10: In the FLO (Front Loop Only), *Sc* all around (18)
Round 11-13: In BOTH Loops, *Sc* all around (18)
Round 14: In the BLO, *Dec, Sc in the next st* all around (12)
Stuff the toilet firmly here – make sure to NOT stuff the bowl, only stuff the lower half.

Round 15: In BOTH Loops, *Dec* all around (6)
Finish off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Sew the remaining stitches closed. Weave in ends.

Sewing:

In white

To make the bowl stay the same shape we need to sew parts of it down. Insert your hook going between Round 3 and 4 of the bowl (Pic 1). Yarn over and pull the yarn through (Pic 2-4).

1. 2. 3. 4.

Insert your hook in the next stitch (Pic 5). Yarn over and pull the yarn through (Pic 6-7). Make a slip stitch (Pic 8-9). Continue inserting the hook through Round 3 & 4, making a slip stitch until you’ve completed going around once. This will make the bowl hold it’s shape.

5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10.

Lid:

In white

Round 1: 6 Sc into a Magic Ring (6)
Round 2: *Inc* all around (12)
Round 3: *Inc, Sc in the next st* all around (18)
Round 4: *Inc, Sc in the next 2 st* all around (24)
Round 5: *Inc, Sc in the next 3 st* all around (30)
Round 6: In the BLO, *Dec, Sc in the next 3 st* all around (24)
Round 7: In BOTH Loops, *Dec, Sc in the next 2 st* all around (18)
Round 8: *Dec, Sc in the next st* all around (12)
Round 9: *Dec* all around (6)
Finish off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Sew the remaining stitches closed. Weave in ends.

Assembly:

Place the lid onto the toilet bowl as shown. Sew them together for the next 6 stitches. Once done, weave in ends.

Place the back of the toilet on as shown and sew on. Be sure to sew the sides of the back piece to the rest of the toilet to it stays on firmly without wobbling around. Once done, weave in ends.

Handle:

In grey

Row 1: Ch 6. Dc in the 3rd Ch from the hook. Dc 2 more times in that same st, Sc in the next st, SlSt in the next 2 st
Finish off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Pin the handle on as shown and sew on. Once done, weave in ends.

Smile:

In black embroidery thread

Insert needle with thread next to the right of the toy’s eye and pull the needle out at the left of the toy’s eye as shown (Pic 1). Reinsert needle into the right of the toy’s eye (Pic 2). Pull needle out at the middle as shown, making sure the needle lands ABOVE the thread (Pic 2). Reinsert needle into the same stitch, making sure the needle lands BELOW the thread (Pic 3). Pull needle out at the right of the toy’s eye (Pic 3). Once done, tie the ends of thread into a firm knot and bring inside the toy to hide. Cut any excess yarn.

  1. Hello there, I was just wondering what type and company of yarn did you use for this lovely toilet. I tried the find this yarn in stores, but when I used it, it was super hard to see my stitches. Thank you! 🙂
