Feature Your Crochet Pattern on StringyDingDing

 Hey there lovely crocheters!

I have some very exciting news for you…

I’m opening up my website to give both up-and-coming and established crochet designers the opportunity to feature their amigurumi designs on StringyDingDing.com as a Contributing Pattern Designer.

This is honestly an opportunity I would have LOVED to come across as a new crochet designer. That’s why I’m giving you the opportunity to promote your designs to thousands of amigurumi lovers!

What does that mean?

If you ARE a crochet pattern designer: You can submit a pattern to me for publication on StringyDingDing. You’ll get to enjoy the many benefits of promoting your amigurumi pattern to an audience of tens of thousands of amigurumi lovers. Complete attribution will be given to you and you will be encouraged to let readers know where to find you, such as your website, social media, and/or storefronts (Etsy, Ravelry, etc.). More details below.

If you’re NOT a designer: You’ll get even more free patterns created by other amazing crocheters in addition to the ones that I already design and share with you!

Most of this post is geared toward designers; if you’re not a pattern designer, you’ve already learned the most important information—you can expect to see even more crochet goodness here on StringyDingDing!.

With that said, here’s what you need to know if you are an amigurumi designer:

What’s in it for me if I share my pattern with the StringyDingDing audience?

StringyDingDing is home to over 100+ amigurumi patterns all made by me, Olive. I started sharing my patterns in 2019 and have been so fortunate to gain a pretty large following of fellow amigurumi lovers. These amigurumi enthusiasts come back week after week because they know they can rely on always finding new quality crochet patterns on my website.

In the age of the internet it’s hard to grab a person’s attention for a millisecond, let alone to convince that person to buy something. I’ve poured my heart and soul into curating an “amigurumi centric” audience numbering in the tens of thousands of monthly visitors.

In addition to the main website you’re on here, I also maintain a very active newsletter with thousands of readers, and a few months ago I launched a private members-only site. At the time of this writing we’re approaching 100 members (which is amazing!).

I’m not telling you all this to brag. I’m telling you this because I want you to know that by becoming a StringyDingDing Contributing Designer and sharing your pattern with the large audience here, you’ll have an amazing opportunity to make new friends, customers, and business relationships. In effect, I am offering you a lifetime “advertisement” of your work on StringyDingDing.com completely free of charge.

In case you’re wondering, here’s what’s in it for me: I get to offer my amazing audience even more fantastic amigurumi patterns and introduce them to new crochet designers. In addition to even more great content getting posted to StringyDingDing at a faster pace, I hope to introduce new styles and themes of amigurumi to the already-large library of patterns I have here.

I believe this is what they call a MASSIVE “win-win” situation, wouldn’t you agree?

“But Wait! There’s More!”— Contributing Pattern Designers Get These Perks Too

If you’re thinking about submitting a pattern to be showcased here on StringyDingDing, these are the most important things you need to know:

  • You own all the rights to your pattern. If for some reason you decide you’d no longer like your pattern on StringyDingDing, let me know and we’ll get it sorted out.
  • The pattern you share must be exclusive to StringyDingDing and not published for free anywhere else, such as your website.
  • A copy of your printable PDF pattern must be provided for free distribution to the StringyDingDing Members site for 1 month. (More on this below.)
  • You ARE allowed and encouraged to sell the printable PDF version of your pattern separately from StringyDingDing, such as on your website or a storefront like Etsy.

Using my website will be an amazing way to allow a massive amigurumi community to discover you and your patterns. As a Contributing Pattern Designer, you will also be given a free one month membership to the exclusive StringyDingDing Members site so that you can build a personal connection with a small-but-growing audience of proven buyers excited to discover new amigurumi designers like you.

If you are a truly dedicated crochet designer and enjoy the experience and benefits of being a Contributing Pattern Designer at StringyDingDing, you will be absolutely welcomed to share as many patterns as you like—there’s no limit!

Finally, please do note that the last thing I want to do is hurt anyone’s feelings but I do reserve the right to decline any pattern I feel isn’t right for the StringyDingDing audience.

How do I get started?

Your pattern will have it’s very own page, free for any one to view. I will input your pattern into my website, just as you have it written and with your photos. In your pattern page I will make it VERY clear that this is your design and you are a Contributing Pattern Designer. Your important links will be very visible to viewers, such as links to your social media, Etsy, website, etc. I would love it if you wrote a little about yourself and your experience making the pattern.

Before submitting a pattern, make sure that it meets the following criteria:

  • Pattern must be written clearly and error-free
  • Photos must be taken to look professional. They don’t have to be perfect, but readers must be able to clearly see the completed pattern and visual aids.
  • Actual pattern should be cute and quality!
  • Agree and fully understand the previous conditions I mentioned

My goal—and yours, to your benefit as a Contributing Pattern Designer—is to put the readers first, always! This is why the pattern must be as error-free as possible. If you’d like, I can point you in the right direction to get pattern testers.

Sign me up!

I’m sure you are very excited to get started on becoming a Contributing Pattern Designer! I can’t wait to personally talk to you about your design. There is no automated system here—as you know if you’ve ever emailed me before, I’m a real person! I think the best way to get started is by corresponding over email.

To become a Contributing Pattern Designer, all you have to do is send me a message on my contact page. Your email will be asked in that contact page so please make sure to use your actual email so I can get back to you!

Please include some of the following information…

  • How long you have been crocheting and how long you have been designing patterns. Remember, this is an opportunity for established AND up-and-coming pattern designers—how long you’ve been involved in the crochet community won’t affect your submission, I’m mostly just curious. 🙂
  • Photos of your work or a link to your website/social media/wherever you post patterns.
  • Tell me about the pattern you’d like to submit (whether you’ve already made it or not is OK!)

I really can’t wait to hear from you and to see your pattern on StringyDingDing. I’m sure everyone will love it!

Let’s do this thing!

Olive
