This rice is so adorable and really fun to the touch, making it a sensory great toy for young children! This pattern uses fuzzy yarn for the rice. Fuzzy yarn can be easy to use if you follow the technique suggested next. This pattern is easy and uses simple stitches. Let’s get started!

TIP:

Working with fuzzy can be difficult because it‘s hard to see your stitches. They key to working with fuzzy yarn is to count as you crochet! If you think you messed up, don‘t worry! Mistakes won‘t be very visible since the fuzzy yarn covers it up. Just try to get close to the stitch count!

Now we will mark where to place the safety eyes. Add a different eye colored stitch marker into the 20th and 23rd stitch in Round 18. If you can’t mark them exactly, that’s okay! Just mark where you think they seem right. Later we will replace these markers with safety eyes.

Add the safety eyes in now

Stuff firmly now. Continue stuffing after each round.
