Ghost Advent Calendar Crochet Pattern

Supplies:
4mm crochet hook. 4/Medium weight yarn in white, pink, purple, green, tan and orange. Orange fabric/puff paint. Black embroidery thread. 8mm safety eyes. Stuffing. Scissors. Tapestry needle.

Additional Information:
Difficulty: Easy
This pattern is worked in rows. We start by making the two pieces of the ghost, starting from the head and working down. We then crochet on the arms. After that, we make the pockets and put on the numbers. We then crochet the from and back piece of the ghost together. After that, we create the candy and candy bag.

Smile:

With Black Embroidery Thread

Insert needle slightly below and in the middle of the eyes, then pull out needle diagonal to the left (Pic 1). Reinsert needle in the original area, pulling needle through (Pic 2). Pull needle out on the right side of the mouth (Pic 3). Reinsert needle into original middle area and pull thread through (Pic 4).

Pockets: (Make 5)

In White

Row 1: Ch 25. Sc in 2nd ch from hook. Sc in next 23 St (24)
Row 2-6: Turn, Sc in next 24 St (24)
Finish off. Pin each piece onto the ghost. I “blocked” the ghost and the pockets on a box so it could flatten out. Sew each pocket on, but only sew the left, right and bottom parts.

Pocket Separators:

In White

Stick needle with thread at the top of the pocket. Reinsert at the bottom of the pocket making sure your line is straight. Pull tightly. Repeat 4 more times across the pocket for a total of 6 individual pockets. Do this to the rest of the pockets.

Numbers:

With orange yarn or orange fabric paint

Either sew on numbers or use fabric paint to paint on numbers. We will do number 31 soon.

Assembly:

In White

Line up the two pieces together. Attach hook with yarn in any place and crochet together. Try to make sure stitches align, but it’s not crucial to have each stitch align. Stuff before fully closing shut.

Candy Bag: (Make 2)

In Purple

Row 1: Ch 11. Sc in 2nd ch from hook, Sc in next 9 st (10)
Row 2-11: Turn, Sc in next 10 st (10)
Finish off. Line both pieces together and Sc together. Leave top part open so we can put candy in there.

Once at the top corner of the bag, Ch 17. Attach with a Sc to the other top corner of the bag and finish off. Weave in ends. Write “31” on the bag with fabric paint or yarn. Sew bag to the arm of ghost.
