Hello! It’s about time I finally release a snake pattern! I’m so happy with how it came out, this is very much a cartoony snake rather than a realistic snake. I had a lot of trouble figuring out how to make the tail, I hope you like how I did it! The tongue is so cute and basically ties the whole snake together 🙂

I hope you get creative with this pattern! At first I made the green snake, then realized I could make so many other snakes just by changing colors. I wanted to make a brown snake but ran out of stuffing. You can also continue to make the tail suuuuper long so it ties around the snake a few times – it’s up to you! Anyways, let’s get to the pattern.

Supplies:
• Yarn colors in size 4/Medium Yarn…
Main Color for Body, Pink for Tongue
Or red, black, and white for the patterned red snake.
•4mm Crochet Hook
•12mm safety eyes
•Tapestry needle
•Scissors
•Stuffing

Getting started…
To make this snake we will start at the top of the head and work our way down to the body. The head and body are one continuous piece! After this, we will make the tail and tongue.

• Note
Get creative with this pattern! You can make the snake is many different color patterns just by changing colors.

Round 1: 6 Sc into a Magic Ring (6)
Round 2: *Inc* all around (12)
Round 3: *Inc, Sc* all around (18)
Round 4: *Inc, Sc 2* all around (24)
Round 5: *Inc, Sc 3* all around (30)
Round 6: *Inc, Sc 4* all around (36)
Round 7-11:
*Sc* all around (36)
Round 12: *Inc, Sc 2* all around (42)
Round 13: *Sc* all around (42)
We will now add 2 different colored eye stitch markers into Round 13. Add a stitch marker in the 20th stitch, and in the 27th stitch.
Round 14-15: *Sc* all around (42)
Round 16:
*Dec, Sc 2* all around (36)
Round 17: *Dec, Sc 4* all around (30)
Round 18: *Dec, Sc 3* all around (24)
Round 19: *Dec, Sc 2* all around (18)
Round 20: In the FLO, *Sc* all around (18)
Add eyes in the marked areas from Round 13 now!

Stuff the head now.
Round 21-22: In BOTH Loops, *Sc* all around (18)

Row 1: Ch 6. Sc in the 2nd Ch from hook, Sc in the next Ch. Ch 3, Sc in the 2nd Ch from the hook. Sc in the next Ch. Sc in the same st of the tongue. Sc in the next 2 ch.
Finish off, leaving a long tail of sewing. Pin the tongue on as shown. Sew on!

    While working on it, I discovered an error: in round 12 it should say: *inc, sc5*.
