This week we have a new, more unique pattern! Here’s a tiny troll! Apparently trolls are supposed to be huge, but I thought it would look so cute in a small size. But no need to be technical, we’re just crocheting cute amigurumis LOL! Also, I wanted to let you know that this troll would look really cute in other colors, like a light purple, blue, or green 🙂

I hope you have fun with this pattern! I admit that it’s not the most amazing, super adorable pattern ever. But, it’s still pretty dang cute!

Supplies:
• Yarn colors in size 4/Medium Yarn…
Troll Skin Color, Light Brown for Loin Cloth, Dark Brown for Club
• 4mm Crochet Hook
•8mm safety eyes
•Tapestry needle
•Scissors
•Stuffing

• Getting started…
To make the troll, we will first make his two legs. We will then crochet the legs together, and this will form the body. The legs, body, and head are all worked in one continuous piece!

After this, we will make the arms, nose, ears, and accessories!

• Note
You can make the troll with blue or purple skin as well!

Troll Legs: (Make 2)

In Trolls Skin Color

Round 1: 6 Sc into a Magic Ring (6)
Round 2: *Sc* all around (6)
Round 3: *Inc, Sc* all around (9)
Round 4: *Sc* all around (9)
Finish off the first leg now. DON’T finish off the second leg you’ll make.

Round 5: Continuing on the second leg, Sc in the next 2 st. (Pic 1-2. Add your stitch marker into the first Sc made in the second leg! This will mark our rounds.) Ch 3 (Pic 3). Sc into any st of first leg (Pic 4-5).

Continuing on that leg, Sc in the next 8 st. Now we meet the chains (Pic 6). Sc next 3 Ch (Pic 7-8). On the second leg, Sc in the next 7 st (Pic 9-10) (24)

Round 6: Sc in the next 2 st (Pic 1). Now we meet the chains. Sc in the next 3 Ch (Pic 2). On the other leg, Sc in the next 9 st (Pic 3-4)

Sc in the next 3 st between the legs (Pic 5). On the other leg, Sc in the next 7 st (Pic 6) (24)

Round 7-11: *Sc* all around (24)
Round 12: *Dec, Sc 2* all around (18)
Round 13-14: *Sc* all around (18)
Round 15: *Dec, Sc* all around (12)
Round 16: In the FLO, *Inc, Sc* all around (18)
Round 17: *Inc, Sc 2* all around (24)
Stuff firmly here

Round 18: *Inc, Sc 3* all around (30)
Round 19-20: *Sc* all around (30)

Now we will add different colored eye stitch markers into Round 20. This will mark where to place the eyes later. Add eye markers into the 9th and 13th stitch in Round 20.

Round 21-23: *Sc* all around (30)
Round 24: *Dec, Sc 3* all around (24)
Round 25: *Dec, Sc 2* all around (18)
Stuff firmly here. Continue to add stuffing after each round. Add eyes into the marked areas now.

Round 26: *Dec, Sc 1* all around (12)
Round 27: *Dec* all around (6)
Finish off now, leaving a tail for sewing. Sew the remaining stitches closed.

Arms: (Make 2)

In Trolls Skin Color

Round 1: 6 Sc into a Magic Ring (6)
Round 2-6: *Sc* all around (6)
Finish off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Pin the arms on as shown. Sew on, you can add a light amount of stuffing before fully sewing closed. I didn’t add stuffing, but you can!

Nose:

In Trolls Skin Color

Round 1: 6 Sc into a Magic Ring (6)
Round 2-3: *Sc* all around (6)
Finish off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Pin the nose on as shown, evenly between the eyes. Sew on!

Right Ear:

In Trolls Skin Color

Round 1: In a Magic Ring, Sc 1, Dc 1, Ch 2. Sc into the 2nd Ch from the hook. Sc 2 times into the Magic Ring. SlSt to the first st made.

 

Left Ear:

In Trolls Skin Color

Round 1: In a Magic Ring, Sc 2, Ch 2. Sc in the 2nd ch from the hook. Dc into the Magic Ring, Sc into the Magic Ring. SlSt to the very first st made.

Loin Cloth:

In Light Brown

Round 1: Ch 38. SlSt in the 2nd Ch from the hook. SlSt in the next 15 st. Sc in the next st, Dc in the next st. Dc in the next st, Ch 1, Dc in that same st. Sc in the next st. SlSt in the next 17 st (38)
Finish off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Sew the two ends of the cloth together. Place onto the troll and sew on.

  2. This guy is too cute! I’m almost done, and using leftover lime green… he almost looks like a sour patch kid! I want to try this again and see if I can build a little crown around his head… and some yellow, orange and blue friends 😉
