• Yarn 4/Medium Weight Yarn in…
White, black, red, orange, yellow, blue, purple, pink, grey.
•4mm Crochet Hook
•12mm Safety eyes
•Tapestry needle
•Scissors

•Size: 7″ long from end to end, 4.5″ tall from top to bottom

Have you ever wondered how rainbows were made? Now you have the answer in form of a cute amigurumi! These cute clouds make a great pair and are perfect for decorations, or to teach young kids about the weather.

Let’s get started!

Cloud:

In White

Round 1: 6 Sc into a Magic Ring (6)
Round 2: *Inc* all around (12)
Round 3: *Inc, Sc in the next st* all around (18)
Round 4: *Inc, Sc in the next 2 st* all around (24)
Round 5-8: *Sc* all around (24)
Round 9: Sc in the next 10 st. In the FLO (Front Loop Only), *Inc* in the next 6 st. In BOTH loops, Sc in the next 8 st (30)
Round 10: Sc in the next 10 st. Repeat *Inc, Sc in the next st* 6 times. Sc in the next 8 st (36)
Round 11: Sc in the next 10 st. Repeat *Inc, Sc in the next 2 st* 6 times. Sc in the next 8 st (42)
Round 12-26: *Sc* all around (42)
Round 27: Sc in the next 18 st. Repeat *Dec, Sc in the next 2 st* 6 times (36)
Round 28: Sc in the next 18 st. Repeat *Dec, Sc in the next st* 6 times (30)
Now we will add in the safety eyes. Add a safety eye into the 15th and 23rd round. Make sure the eyes align with each other.
Round 29: Sc in the next 18 st. Repeat *Dec* 6 times (24)
Round 30-33: *Sc* all around (24)
Round 34: *Dec, Sc in the next 2 st* all around (18)
Round 35: *Dec, Sc in the next st* all around (12)
Round 36: *Dec* all around (6)
Finish off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Sew the remaining stitches closed and weave in ends.

Mouth:

In Black

Row 1: Ch 15. Sc in the 2nd Ch from the hook. Hdc in the next 2 st, Dc in the next st, Trc in the next 6 st, Dc in the next st, Hdc in the next 2 st, Sc in the next st (14)
Pin the smile on as shown. If you’re making the lightening cloud, simply flip the smile upside down to make the frown. Sew or hot glue on. Weave in any ends and cut any excess yarn.

Rainbow:

Start in red

Row 1: Ch 19. Sc in the 2nd Ch from the hook. Sc in the next 17 st (18)
Row 2: Change to Orange. Ch 1 and turn. In the FLO Sc in the next 18 st (18)
Row 3: Change to Yellow. Ch 1 and turn. In the BLO Sc in the next 18 st (18)
Row 4: Change to Green. Ch 1 and turn. In the FLO Sc in the next 18 st (18)
Row 5: Change to Blue. Ch 1 and turn. In the BLO Sc in the next 18 st (18)
Row 6: Change to Purple. Ch 1 and turn. In the FLO Sc in the next 18 st (18)
Row 7: Change to Pink. Ch 1 and turn. In the BLO Sc in the next 18 st (18)
Finish off, leaving a long tail for sewing – weaving in the other ends. Pin the rainbow on as shown and sew or hot glue on. Once done, weave in end of yarn. Cut any excess yarn.

Lightening:

Start in yellow

Row 1: Ch 2. Sc in the 2nd Ch from the hook. (1)
Row 2: Ch 1 and turn. *Inc* 1 time (2)
Row 3: Ch 1 and turn. *Inc* in the next 2 st (4)
Row 4-7: Ch 1 and turn. *Sc* in the next 4 st (4)
Row 8: Ch 1 and turn. Inc in the next st, Sc in the next 2 st, Inc in the next st (6)
Row 9: Ch 1 and turn. Sc in the next 6 st (6)
Row 10: Ch 1 and turn. SlSt in the next 2 st, Sc in the next 3 st, Sc 4 times in the last st (9)
Row 11-12: Ch 1 and turn. Sc in the next 7 st (7)
Row 13: Ch 1 and turn. Sc 4 times in the next st (the same st), Sc in the next 4 st, SlSt in the next 2 st (10)
Row 14: Ch 1 and turn. SlSt in the next 2 st, Sc in the next 8 st (10)
Row 15-16: Ch 1 and turn. Sc in the next 8 st (8)
Finis off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Pin the lightening on as shown and sew or hot glue on. Once done, weave in ends and cut any excess yarn.
