4mm crochet hook, 4/Medium weight yarn in brown, white, red, and pink. 10mm safety eyes, tapestry needle, scissors, and stuffing.

This pattern makes both a boy and girl gingerbread! First, we start by making the head which leads into the body. It’s all one piece. Next, we make all the face pieces. Next, we make the arms and legs, and clothes.

Head Frosting:
In White
Round 1: Ch 62. Connect with a Sc to first Ch.
Finish off and pin to the head as shown.

Eyes:

With white yarn, line half the eye as shown (Pic 1-2). Sew on an eyebrow is desired (Pic 3), and sew on eyelashes for a girl (Pic 4).

Finish off and pin as shown.
Bow:
In Red
Row 1: Ch 8. Sc in 2nd Ch from hook. Sc in next 6 st (7)
Row 2-3: Turn, Sc in next 7 St (7)
Finish off. Weave tail to the middle of the bow (Pic 2) Wrap this tail around the middle of the bow a few times (Pic 3-4). Sew tail in to secure (Pic 5).
Pin on the head for the girl, or put on the neck for the boy.
Skirt:
In Brown
Row 1: Ch 56. Dc in 2nd Ch from hook. Dc in next 54 Ch (55)
Row 2: Turn, Dc in next 55 st (55)
Switch to White
Row 3: Turn, Sc in next 55 st (55)
Finish off. Pin around the waist and sew on.
