Supplies:
4mm crochet hook. 4/Medium weight yarn in skin color, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, pink, black, brown, and white. Black embroidery thread. 8mm Safety eyes. Stuffing. Scissors. Tapestry needle.

Additional Information:
Difficulty: Easy
The colors you use in this pattern depends on which character you’d like to make. “Main Color” refers to the color you’re using for the body. “Skin Color” refers to the skin color you’re using for the head and arms.
Devil: Main color Red. Tail – Black.
Unicorn: Main color – White. Hair Color – Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, and Pink.
Pumpkin: Main color – Orange. Stem & Pumpkin Face – Brown. Leaf – Green.
We start by making two legs, which we will connect together and work into the body as all one piece. Then, we make the arms and sew them on. After, we make the head, then hat, then each kid’s costume pieces.

Feet: (Make 2)

In Main Color

Round 1: 6 Sc in Magic Ring (6)
Round 2: *Inc* all around (12)
Round 3: *Inc, Sc* all around (18)
Round 4-6: *Sc* all around (18)
Round 7: Sc in next 4 st, *Dec* 4 times, Sc in last 6 st (14)
Round 8: Sc in next 4, *Dec* 2 times, Sc in last 6 st (12)
Round 9-15: *Sc* all around (12)
Finish off first foot but LEAVE st marker in first foot!

Repeat for second foot but continue:

DON’T finish off 2nd foot. We will continue on the 2nd foot:
Round 16: Sc in next 5 St. (Pic 1) Ch 3. (Pic 2) On first leg, count 2 st behind 1st leg st market. Sc in this stitch. (Pic 3) Now you can remove 1st leg st marker but keep in 2nd leg st marker. Sc in next 11 st. Now we meet the Ch. (Pic 4) Sc in next 3 St along the Ch. Now we meet 2nd leg. Sc in next 7 St. (Pic 5) (30)

Round 17-18: *Sc* all around (30)


Round 19: *Inc, Sc 4* (36)
Round 20-23: *Sc* all around (36)
Stuff legs here


Round 24-36: *Sc* all around (36)
Round 37: *Dec, Sc 4* all around (30)
Round 38: *Sc* all around (30)
Stuff here
Round 39: *Dec, Sc 3* all around (24)
Round 40: *Sc* all around (24)
Round 41: *Dec, Sc 2* all around (18)
Round 42: *Sc* all around (18)
Stuff here. Add additional stuffing through the next rounds.

Arms: (Make 2)

In Main Color

Round 7: Switch to Main Color. *Dec, Sc 4* all around (10)
Round 8-17: *Sc* all around (10)
Finish off and stuff. Pin to the sides of the body.

Head:

In Skin Color

Round 1: 6 Sc in Magic Ring (6)
Round 2: *Inc* all around (12)
Round 3: *Inc, Sc* all around (18)

Round 5: *Inc, Sc 3* all around (30)
Round 6: *Inc, Sc 4* all around (36)

Round 12: Sc in next 17 st, Sc in next st. Add different colored st marker to Sc just made. This marks where we will place the eyes. Sc in next 6 st, Sc in next st and add different colored st marker to Sc just made. Sc in last 17 St (42)


Round 13-17: *Sc* all around (42)
Round 18: *Dec, Sc 5* all around (36)
Round 19: *Dec, Sc 4* all around (30)
Round 20: *Dec, Sc 3* all around (24)
Stuff here and add in safety eyes in marked areas


Round 21: *Dec, Sc 2* all around (18)
Round 22: *Dec, Sc* all around (12)
Round 23: *Dec* all around (6)
Add any additional stuffing and finish off.

Head Hat:

In Main Color

Round 1: 6 Sc in Magic Ring (6)
Round 2: *Inc* all around (12)
Round 3: *Inc, Sc* all around (18)
Round 4: *Inc, Sc 2* all around (24)
Round 5: *Inc, Sc 3* all around (30)
Round 6: *Inc, Sc 4* all around (36)

Finish off and put the head into the head hat.

Pin head to the body. Sew on.

Eye Addition: (Optional)

In White

Insert needle to top side of the eye. Pull yarn through, and insert it to the bottom inner side of the eye. Pull through.

Now we will work on making the pieces for each specific costume.

Devil

Devil Ears: (Make 2)

In Main Color

Round 1: 4 Sc in Magic Ring (4)
Round 2: *Sc* all around (4)
Round 3: *Inc* all around (8)
Round 4-5: *Sc* all around (8)
Finish off and pin to the head. Sew on.

Devil Tail:

In Main Color

Round 1: 6 Sc in Magic Ring (6)
Round 2-15: *Sc* all around (6)
Finish off and set aside.

Devil Tail Tip:

In Black

Round 1: 4 Sc in Magic Ring (4)
Round 2: *Inc, Sc* all around (6)
Round 3: *Inc, Sc 2* all around (8)
Round 4: *Inc, Sc 3* all around (10)
Finish off and sew to the tip of the tail. Now pin to the back of the devil.

Unicorn

Horn:

In Yellow

Round 1: 6 Sc in Magic Ring (6)
Round 2: *Sc* all around (6)
Round 3: *Inc, Sc 2* all around (9)
Round 4-5: *Sc* all around (9)
Round 6: *Inc, Sc 3* all around (12)
Round 7: *Sc* all around (12)
Finish off and pin to the upper middle area of the head.

Ears: (Make 2)

In Main Color

Round 1: 6 Sc in Magic Ring (6)
Round 2: *Sc* all around (6)
Round 3: *Inc* all around (12)
Round 4-6: *Sc* all around (12)
Finish off and pin each next to the horn.

Unicorn Maine: (Make 6)

In Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, and Pink

Round 1: Ch 30. Dc in 2nd Ch from hook. Dc 2 more times in same St. Dc 3 times in each of the next 28 Ch.
Twist maine so it becomes curly. Pin around horn and sew on.

 

Unicorn Tail:

In Red, Orange, and Pink

Round 1: Ch 20. Dc in 2nd Ch from hook. Dc 2 more times in same St. Dc 3 times in each of the next 18 Ch.
Twist tail so it becomes curly. Pin to back of Unicorn and sew on.

Rainbow Applique:

Round 1: In blue, Ch 6. Now switch to green and Ch 1 more (7)
Round 2: Turn. Working in green, Sc in 2nd ch from hook. Sc in same St. Sc in next St. Now repeat *Inc in next St, Sc in next St* 2 more times (9)
Round 3: Now switch to Yellow. Turn, Repeat *Inc, Sc 2* 3 times (12)
Round 4: Now switch to Orange. Turn, Repeat *Inc, Sc 3* 3 times (15)
Round 5: Now switch to Red. Turn, repeat *Inc, Sc 4* 4 times (18)
Finish off and weave in ends. Sew on to belly of Unicorn.

Pumpkin

Pumpkin Stem:

In Brown

Round 1: 6 Sc in Magic Ring (6)
Round 2: *Inc, Sc* all around (9)
Round 3: *Sc* all around in BLO (9)
Round 4-6: In BOTH Loops, *Sc* around (9)
Finish off and pin to the middle top of the head.

Pumpkin Leaf:

In Green

Round 1: Ch 17. Dc in 2nd Ch from hook. Dc 2 more times in same St. 3 Dc in each of the next 14 St.
Twist leaf to curl and pin next to the stem. Sew on.

Pumpkin Eyes: (Make 2)

In Brown

Round 1: Ch 5. Sc in 2nd Ch from hook. Dc in next St, Trc in next 2 St.
Finish off and pin to the belly.

Pumpkin Nose:

In Brown

Round 1: Ch 3. Sc in 2nd Ch from hook. Dc in next St.
Finish off and pin to the belly, below the eyes. Sew on eyes and nose, then sew on a smile.

Candy Baskets:

In Orange, Green, or Purple

Round 1: 6 Sc in Magic Ring (6)
Round 2: *Inc* all around (12)
Round 3: *Inc, Sc* all around (18)
Round 4-7: *Sc* all around (18)
Round 8: *Dec, Sc* all around (12)
Round 9: Switch to Black and Sc in next St. Ch 7. Count 6 st ahead and Sc in that 6th St.
Finish off and weave in ends. Sew on smiley face with black embroidery thread.
