• Yarn 4/Medium Weight Yarn in…
Black, white, and yellow
•4mm Crochet Hook
•6mm Safety eyes
•Tapestry needle
•Scissors
•Stuffing

These scraptacular penguins are awesome! Why? Because they’re no-sew, which means you won’t have to pick up a sewing needle one in order to complete this cute pattern! Everything is made into one piece. We make the feet and beak separately and crochet them on as we make the body. The arms are made into the penguin as we make the body. If this sounds intimidating, don’t worry! There’s lots of pictures to help along the way 🙂

Let’s get started!

We make the feet and beak first. We’ll crochet them onto the penguin later!

Feet: (Make 2)

In yellow

Round 1: 6 Sc into a Magic Ring (6)
Finish off now and weave in ends.

Beak:

In yellow

Row 1: Ch 3. Sc in the 2nd Ch from the hook, Dc in the next ch.
Finish off now and weave in ends.

Penguin:

Start in white

Round 1: 6 Sc into a Magic Ring (6)
Round 2: *Inc* all around (12)
Round 3: Inc in the next st, Sc in the next st. Inc in the next st. Align the beak to the body (Pic 1). Going through BOTH the beak and body (Pic 2), Sc in the next st. Inc in the next st (Pic 3). Going through just the body (Pic 4), Sc in the next st. Repeat *Inc in the next st, Sc in the next st* 3 times (18)

Round 4: Sc in the next 4 st. Hdc in the next st, Dc 2 times in the next st. Trc 2 times in the next st. Dc 2 times in the next st. Hdc in the next st, Sc in the next 9 st (21)
Round 5: Change to Black. Sc in the next 6 st. Inc in the next 4 st, Sc in the next 11 st (25)
Round 6: Sc in the next 9 st. Inc in the next 4 st, Sc in the next 8 st. Align the foot to the body (Pic 1). Going through BOTH the foot and the body, Sc in the next 2 st (Pic 2). Going through just the body, Sc in the next st (Pic 3). Align the second foot to the body. Going through BOTH the foot and body, Sc in the next st (Pic 4. Stitch count: 29)

Round 7: Going through BOTH the foot and the body, Sc in the next st (Pic 5). Continuing on just the body, Sc in the next 3 st.

Round 7: (Continued) Now we will make the wing. In the Front Loop Only (FLO), SlSt in the next st (Pic 1), Ch 7 (Pic 2), Sc in the 2nd Ch from the hook, Hdc in the next 5 ch (Pic 3). Now on the body, SlSt into the same st where we made the wing (Pic 4).

Working on the body, Sc in the next 4 st (Pic 5). *Dec* 4 times. Sc in the next 3 st. In the FLO, SlSt in the next st (Pic 6). Ch 7 (Pic 7), Sc in the 2nd Ch from the hook. Hdc in the next 5 ch. Working back on the body, SlSt in the same st (Pic 8). Now Sc in the next 6 st. Skip the next st, Sc in the last st (24)

Place the safety eyes right next to each side of the beak.
Round 8: *Dec, Sc in the next 2 st* all around (18)
Note for Round 8: You will have to bend the arm towards you to expose the stitch behind the arm. We will be crocheting in the back loop we left in Round 7 when making the wing (Pic 9-12).

9. 10. 11. 12.Round 9: *Dec, Sc in the next st* all around (12)
Stuff firmly here.
Round 10: *Dec* all around (6)
Finish off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Sew the remaining stitches together and weave in ends. Cut any excess yarn.
