Sandwich Cookies Amigurumi – Free Crochet Pattern

Supplies:
•  Yarn 4/Medium Weight in:
Any color for cookie, white for cream
•4mm Crochet Hook
•Tapestry needle
•Scissors
•Stuffing
•8mm safety eyes
•Black Embroidery Thread

We all can instantly recognize this famous style of cookie! Have some fun and crochet this cute and easy cookie. You may even learn a new stitch when we create the cool edging on the cookie 🙂

First, we will make both sides of the cookie. Next we create the cream of the cookie. We’ll then crochet all pieces together, then the cookie is done!

Cookie: (Make 2)

In any color

Round 1: 6 Sc into a Magic Ring (6)
Round 2: *Inc* all around (12)
We will mark where to place the eyes now. Only do this step on the first cookie piece you make, not the second! Add a different colored stitch marker into the 3rd and 9th stitch in Round 2.
Round 3: *Inc, Sc in the next st* all around (18)
Round 4: *Inc, Sc in the next 2 st* all around (24)
Add the eyes into the marked areas now.

Now we will work a crab stitch for the cool edging of the cookie. The crab stitch is basically working a regular single crochet, except you’re working it into the previous stitch. You will NOT turn your work to work in the previous stitch.

Crab Stitch:

Insert your hook into the next stitch to your right (Pic 1-3).

Yarn over, and pull the yarn through (Pic 4-6). You will have two loops on your hook (Pic 6).

Yarn over and pull through both loops (Pic 7-9). You have completed 1 crab stitch! See, it’s simply making 1 single crochet into the next stitch to your right! Repeat making 1 crab stitch all around until you’ve completed a round. Slip stitch the first and last stitch together. Finish off the first cookie you made, do NOT finish off the second piece.

Cookie Cream:

In white

Round 1: 6 Sc into a Magic Ring (6)
Round 2: *Inc* all around (12)
Round 3: *Inc, Sc in the next st* all around (18)
Round 4: *Inc, Sc in the next 2 st* all around (24)
Round 5: Inc in the first st, Sc in the next 11 st, Inc in the next st, Sc in the next 11 st
Finish off now and weave in ends.

Connecting the cookie together:

Place the cookie pieces together as shown (Pic 1). Place your hook into the working loop of the bottom cookie (Pic 2). Now insert your hook through all three layers of the cookie, your hook will come out at the top as shown (Pic 3).

Yarn over (Pic 4) and pull the yarn through all three layers (Pic 5-6).

*Going 1 stitch to the left, insert hook through all three layers (Pic 7). Yarn over (Pic 8)

and pull needle through all three layers (Pic 9-10). You will have two loops on your hook. Make a slip stitch by pulling the left loop on your hook through the right loop on your hook. You’ve completed one slip stitch (Pic 11). Complete crocheting all cookies pieces together with a slip stitch until they’re fully crocheted together! Once done, finish off and weave in ends.

Smile:

In black embroidery thread

Insert needle with thread into the middle mouth area of the toy, and pull the needle out next to the toy’s left eye as shown (Pic 1). Reinsert needle into the middle mouth area (Pic 2) and pull needle out next to the right eye (Pic 2). Reinsert needle into the middle mouth area and pull needle out a few stitches over. Tie the ends of thread into firm knots and bring them inside the toy to hide. This will secure the smile. Done!
