Sock Monkey – Free Crochet Pattern

Free Crochet Pattern Sock Monkey

Sock Monkey

Materials: 5 mm hook, tapestry needle, stuffing, and scissors, and yarn in 4 weight.

Stitches Used: Magic Ring, Sc, Inc, Dec, Ch,

You can make the sock monkey any color, but for this pattern I wrote it in the way where the colors match the traditional sock monkey in white, red, then grey. You can replace these colors 🙂

We start by making the 2 legs. These legs will then create the body, then the body will create the head. We work the arms, tail, and ears separately.

Stuff gradually throughout.

Legs (make 2 they will work into the body)

Row 1: 6 sc in magic ring (6)

Row 2: *Inc* all around (12)

Row 3: Repeat *1 sc, inc* all around (18)

Row 4-5: Sc around (18)

Row 6: In red, *sc* around (18)

Row 7-30: In grey, *sc* around (18)

Do the same with the second leg but do NOT finish off and do not remove your stitch marker. We will connect this leg to the other leg and work the body.

Leg continued:

Still on the second leg, Ch 4 and connect with a sc to the first leg. You can connect this anywhere.

Row 1: Sc 17, sc 5 along where we connected the chain, and the chain.

Row 2: Sc 18, sc 4 along chain and sc 1 in the connecting chain, sc 22.
