Star Applique/Ornament – Free Christmas Crochet Pattern

Supplies:
• Yarn 4/Medium Weight in…
Any color, or hold 2 strands of yarn together to make a multicolored star
•4mm Crochet Hook
•Tapestry needle
•Scissors

These stars work up extremely quickly and are super easy! They make for great appliques, or a nice ornament for a Christmas tree.
On the red and green star, I held together 2 strands of yarn to make the star look like a peppermint. If you do this, your star will turn out slightly larger.
Let’s get started!
Round 1: Ch 4 (Pic 1). Create 9 Dc into the 4th Ch from the hook (Pic 2). SlSt to the first st (Pic 3). (Stitch Count: 10)

Round 2: Repeat *Ch 6. SlSt in the 2nd Ch from the hook, Sc in the next Ch, Hdc in the next Ch, Dc in the next Ch, Trc in the last Ch (Pic 5). Working back on the circle, skip the next st, SlSt in the next st (Pic 6)* 5 times.

Finish off and weave in ends. Tie on a string to make the star an ornament.
